What Happens during a Radon Inspection?
CalPro technicians are certified to administer radon testing in California. Here’s how the process works:
- We set up testing on the lowest living level of the home. If you have a basement, we always test the basement.
- We place our testing device in the lowest level of your home where it remains for 48 hours, continually taking air samples. We then return to pick up the monitor.
- For 12 hours prior to the radon test and during the test, all windows and doors must remain closed. You are, however, allowed to enter and exit the home for your normal activities.
- After the test is completed, test results are available within a few days. We will email you the results.
What if My Results Show High Levels?
If your results come back in the high range, then we will recommend that you have radon mitigation. Mitigation will help reduce the level to an acceptable number considered to be safe.
